Laser Lidar Ceilometer

ZCL3 Ceilometer

ZCL3 Ceilometer is a radar device that uses a laser emission source to measure cloud height and cloud cover. Determine the height of the cloud base by measuring the time it takes for a laser pulse to travel from the transmitter to the cloud base and then reflect back to the receiver.

The laser emits laser pulses vertically upwards. If there is a cloud above the transmitter, strong backward scattering will occur.

By measuring and calculating the signal received by the receiver, the height of the cloud layer can be determined. Cloud cover information can be obtained through time statistics or scanning the beam of light.
